At first of the year, the Redmi Note 7 arrived. A phone gave the starting gun the first Redmi to separate from Xiaomi as its brand. Redmi is now an independent brand, although it maintains the principles of Xiaomi. The manufacturer has presented a new model that joins the Redmi Note 7, it is the Redmi Note 7 Pro from Xiaomi, and among its novelties, we find slight improvements in its specifications.
Redmi just presented its new smartphone for the mid-range at an event in India. The Redmi Note 7 Pro brings a series of changes to become a more powerful version of the Redmi Note 7.
The fundamental change is found in the new Qualcomm Snapdragon 675, which replaces the Qualcomm Snapdragon 660 of the basic version. RAM and storage are some of the other changes, although in appearance and screen, for example, we did not find any difference.

Similar to what we saw on the Redmi Note 7, the Pro version also brings a dual camera with a 48 MP main sensor. This time the sensor is from Sony. It is IMX586. The 48 megapixels do not have them in each shot since such a sensor, according to the manufacturer, would involve photographs of 15 MB of internal storage. Instead, they merge to offer much brighter 12MP photos. If we want to shoot at 48 MP, a “Pro” mode enables this function. The aperture, by the way, is f / 1.79.
The other rear camera we found is a 5 MP camera designed to capture the depth and offer a blur for subjects in the scene. On the front, the camera has 13 MP and allows different modes such as portrait or beauty.
Redmi Note 7 Pro brings in the camera software section a night mode that improves images in low light conditions using artificial intelligence, according to the manufacturer. It will also suggest settings for shooting in the best possible conditions in each scene. Videos will be recorded in up to 4K resolution at 30 fps as the maximum quality.
The real improvements are found in this Redmi Note 7 Pro when looking inside. It comes equipped with the Qualcomm Snapdragon 675, compared to the Snapdragon 660 that we see in the normal model.
This processor, in principle, provides more power and greater energy savings. Processor accompanied by an Adreno 612 GPU. On the other hand, we find a RAM that can be 4 GB or 6 GB, depending on the version. Once again, there is a slight improvement over the Redmi Note 7, which has versions starting at 3GB of RAM. In the storage section, it goes from 32/64 GB to 64/128 GB of capacity.
The battery is another point where we see small changes. While the 4,000 mAh capacity is maintained, we found differences in fast charging. The Redmi Note 7 Pro bets on Quick Charge 4+ instead of option 3.0 In practical figures, with an 18W charger, the 4,000 mAh battery of the Redmi Note 7 Pro can charge 50% in 40 minutes.
Another point is that of the screen, Redmi Note 7 Pro brings a 6.3-inch panel with a 19.5: 9 aspect ratio. The panel is an LTPS Incell and its resolution reaches FullHD + with 2,340 x 1,080 pixels. Since it only has one camera, we found a drop type notch. It doesn’t get rid of the bottom frame much thicker than the sides and top.
The Redmi Note 7 Pro comes in two different versions in which RAM and storage vary. The first of the versions have 4 GB of RAM and 64 GB of storage. In India, it comes for 13,999 rupees ( 170 euros to the change approximately). The second version has 6 GB of RAM and 128 GB of storage. In India, it comes for 16,999 rupees ( 210 euros to change approximately). As always, we will have to wait for Europe’s official arrival to see what its final price is in euros.
Redmi Note 7 Pro has a total of three colors, the same as the Redmi Note 7. These colors are blue, fuchsia, and black. There is no data on its arrival in Spain or other markets, nor on its price outside India.
